Bobsleigh

Bobsleigh is a winter sport in which teams of two or four people slide down a purpose-built track in a bob sleigh against the clock. A modern track must be 1200-1300 metres in length, with at least 15 turns. The speed on the track can reach up to 140 km/h. Bobsleigh events took place for the first time in 1884 in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where there is still a bobsleigh track.
The Latvian bobsleigh tradition started back in the era of the USSR . The best Soviet bobsleigh pilots were from Latvia. Only two-man bobsleigh events can currently take place at the Sigulda bobsleigh and luge track.
